Google My Business in the COVID-19 Era
It is no secret that COVID-19 has affected the way businesses operate, both online and in-person. Consumer search habits have changed. Media consumption has skyrocketed. And with many working from home, desktop usage of Google has increased 23 %. Google has always been a key player in driving traffic to a businesses website and Google My Business (GMB) listings are responsible for a significant amount of that.
Now more than ever, it is important that all profiles from Facebook to GMB, reflect accurate information. If your business has closed temporarily or gone to reduced hours, update your listing to reflect that so consumers are aware.
If your business is still open or getting ready to re-open, make sure you are advertising that as well! Along with the appropriate safety measures you are taking, of course. This way consumers know they can still depend on your services.
Back in August, Digital Stack finalised an integration with GMB so users could post directly to their listing via Digital Stack! And due to the current global climate, Google has opened up this integration to businesses and brands of all sizes.
Along with the operating hours, there are other aspects of your GMB listing that should be updated and maintained during this pandemic. Check out this great article from a Google Specialist with LT Network, a Digital Stack Agency Partner, for more information!
